about.
OUR ORIGIN
Plastic injection mould tooling manufacturer.
I decided in March 2019 that the time was right and, at the grand old age of 53, I set up TQT International Ltd (TQT) a Plastic Injection Mould Procurement Company offering the service of procurement of Plastic Injection Mould Tooling from established low cost Chinese Mould Toolmakers, Project Management and Consultation for Plastic Injection Mould Tooling.
The decision wasn’t one that I took lightly, having started my career in the world of plastic mould toolmaking as an apprentice at the age of 17 in 1983. A few things happened last year, and I just thought it is now or never to start the business.
On March the 29th 2019 TQT became a registered UK Company.
Great days, freezing cold refurbishing engines and gearboxes. A great grounding for my future career in engineering."
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
A little information about how I came to be working in the toolmaking industry.
I had always been interested in finding out how things work and asking questions of how would you make that? My mother and father have told me that I was always taking things apart from a young age, items such as clocks, bicycles and anything with moving parts, finally to cars with my father in his home garage. Great days, freezing cold refurbishing engines and gearboxes. A great grounding for my future career in engineering.
Back in the early 80’s getting opportunities to learn an engineering trade were very far and few between. So, when I did get that opportunity to go for an interview at a local Toolmaking company I jumped at the chance.
I was fortunate to be given a job and as they say I have never regretted a single day of working in this industry since. Manufacturing Mould Tools teaches you something new every single day and I will never be able to say I know everything there is to know in this industry, that is a fact.
Rather than go on further about myself here, my career to date can be viewed on my LinkedIn page here. If you’d like to know more, please get in touch via the contact page.
Employed as the Technical Director, he was responsible for the procurement of plastic injection mould tooling from Asia, and together with a small professional team, was also responsible for the daily production of Proptek products worldwide.
The role required multiple overseas travels with very little time spent in the UK. Keeping focussed whilst travelling alone and updating the team were attributes that Warren achieved.
Whilst he delivered the highest quality of new plastic injection mould tools, the improvement to our existing moulds soon realised a better production rate, together with enhanced quality products, Warren added value at the concept stage, liaising closely with product designers and the owner of Proptek. This helped reduce lead time to get the product to market.
I wish Warren every success as he tries to develop his own company. I am sure that he will succeed due to his self-imposed high standards and determination, his focus, hard work and ability to work with both suppliers and customers at all levels in a transparent and seamless manner."
